We, the Evangelical Free Church of Huntington Beach, acknowledge that prayer is vital and necessary to accomplish "Our Purpose" as a fellowship of believers. The greatest thing we can do in ministry for God and for man is to pray. Our Lord emphasized both private and public prayer.
"But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you" Matt 6:6.
"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by my Father who is in heaven, For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst". Matt.18: 19-20.
A daily "Quiet Time" of prayer and Bible study is an essential ingredient for a healthy walk, day-by-day, with our Lord. We encourage each person to be faithful in this. Each of our small groups, Sunday School classes and various boards and committees etc., are asked to have a period of prayer for part of the time spent together.
There are several scheduled corporate times of prayer as well as certain groups dedicated to prayer which meet. These include:
- Prayer Requests: Each week, Staff and Elders pray for the prayer requests that were submitted during the Sunday Morning Worship Services.
- Wednesday evening "All Church Prayer" in the West Overflow; 6:30-6:55 pm.
- Two Elders in the Prayer Room, west side of Worship Center, Sunday 9:45 to 10:45 am.
- YOU Prayer (for our adopted people group) First Friday of month 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
- Houses of Prayer
- Wives in Prayer
- Koinonia Sunday Evening Fellowship
- Pastor’s Prayer Team – Contact Pastor Ray or Rex Moses to be a part of the team praying for Pastor Ray
