What is the meaning of my life?
-
God made me to have a loving relationship with
Him forever!
God says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love!"
Jeremiah 31:3
"In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus
Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His
will." Ephesians 1:4,5
- We were created to enjoy a personal relationship with God and to manage all of the rest of God's creation! This makes us special and significant!
"So God created human beings, making them in His image. He blessed them, and said, '...live all over the earth and bring it under control. I am putting you in charge.'"
Genesis 1:27, 28 (LB)
- When we know and love God, and live in harmony with His purpose for our lives, it produces tremendous benefits in our lives.

This is the kind of lifestyle God intends for us to live.
Jesus said, "I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly." John 10:10b
Why then aren't most people living meaningful lives that
result in real happiness?
What’s the problem?
-
Man has a natural desire to be boss and to ignore God’s principles for living.
“Do your own thing.”
“If it feels good, do it — regardless of what God says
about it.”
“It’s my life and I’ll do what I please!”
“I have my rights.”
The Bible calls this attitude sin .
“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8
- Man is a sinner
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23(KJ)
Sin is transgressing God’s law and includes such things as lying, lust, cheating, deceit, anger, evil thoughts, immoral behavior, and more.
And because of this...
- Man cannot save himself
If you wanted to save yourself by good deeds, do you know how good you would have to be?
“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48 (KJ)
With such a high standard, no one can save himself.
However, in spite of our sin...
- God is love and therefore doesn’t want to punish us.
This is because “...God is love.” 1 John 4:8 (KJ)
And He says, “...I have loved thee with an everlasting love...”
Jeremiah 31:3 (KJ)
But the same Bible which tells us that
God loves us, also tells us that...
- God is just and therefore must punish sin.
He says... “...(I) will by no means clear the guilty...”
Exodus 34:7(KJ)
“for the wages of sin is death,...” Romans 6:23
- We have a problem.
God loves us and But He is just and
doesn’t want to punish us must punish sin.
- God solved this problem for us in the Person of...
Jesus Christ
- Who is He?
The Bible tells us clearly that He is the infinite God-man.
“In the beginning was the Word (Jesus)...and the Word (Jesus) was made flesh, and dwelt among us...” John 1:1, 14 (KJ)
Jesus Christ came to earth and lived a sinless
life, but while on earth...
- What did He do?
He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose from the grave to purchase a place for us in heaven.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity (sin) of us all.” Isaiah 53:6 (KJ)
Jesus Christ bore our sin in His body on the cross and now offers you eternal life (heaven) as a free gift.
This gift is received by ...
- Faith
Faith is the key that opens the door to heaven.
- Many people mistake two things for saving faith:
1. Saving faith is not mere intellectual assent, like believing certain historical facts. The Bible says that the
devil believes there is one God, so believing that there is one God is not saving faith.
2. Saving faith is not mere temporal faith, that is, trusting God for temporary crises such as financial,
family, or physical needs. Now these are good, and you should trust Christ for these, but they are not saving faith!
- What Biblical faith is:
Biblical faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. It means resting upon Christ alone and what He has done
rather than in what you or I have done to get us into heaven.
“...Believe (trust) on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...” Acts 16:31 (KJ)
What now?
You have just read the greatest story
ever told about the greatest offer
ever made by the greatest person
who ever lived Jesus Christ
The question that God is asking you now is...
Would you like to receive the gift of eternal life?
Because this is such an important matter...
Let's clarify just what it involves.
It means that you need to...
- Transfer your trust from what you have been doing to what Christ has done for you on His cross.
Admit your need for Him to be your savior
- Confess your sin and repent
"If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us." 1 John 1:8-10
Be willing to turn from anything that is not pleasing to Him. He will reveal His will to you as you grow in your
relationship with Him.
- Accept Christ as your savior
Open the “door” to your heart and He will enter.
He says: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him...” Revelation 3:20 (KJ)
- Receive Jesus Christ as lord
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,
{even} to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1: 12,13
Give Him the “driver’s seat” and “controls” of your life, not
the “back seat.”
Now, if this is what you really want...
You can go to God in prayer right where you are. You can receive His gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ right now.
“For with the heart man believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth he
confesses, resulting in salvation. For ‘Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.’”
Romans 10:10, 13
If you want to receive the gift of salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ,
then call on Him, asking Him for this gift right now.
Here's a suggested prayer:
“Lord Jesus Christ, I know I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life.
But, I believe You died and rose from the grave to purchase my salvation and secure
a place in heaven for me. Lord Jesus, come into my life; take control of my life;
forgive my sins and save me. I repent of my sins and now place my trust in You
for my salvation. I accept you as my Savior .”
If this prayer is the sincere desire of your heart, look at what Jesus promises to those who believe in Him:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life” John 6:47
Our identity in Christ
When a person becomes a Christian they come into the family of God.
There are two immediate actions steps which Christ commands that show publicly a person’s belief in Him.
Baptism
“Jesus came up and spoke to them... ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit...’”
Matthew 28:18-19
The Lord's Supper (communion)
“For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus
in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when he had given thanks, He broke it
and said, ‘This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’
In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant
in My blood; do this in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and
drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.”
